Sealants

Sealants are used to protect teeth that cannot be adequately cleaned by brushing alone. Some teeth, such as the back molars, have fine pits and grooves that accumulate plaque because they are so narrow that not even one bristle of a toothbrush can fit inside them. When the plaque accumulates, it can create a cavity.  To avoid this, Dr. Rosales will brush on the sealant coating, which seals off the pits and grooves and creates a smooth surface that is easier to keep clean and healthy.
